Get ready for an impressive display of African art and culture at the 2015 Lagos Black Heritage Festival, just a few days away! The week long festival held from April 18th – 25th is a vibrant celebration of African creativity at it’s finest.

The Black Heritage Festival infuses traditional and contemporary dance, music paining, photo exposition, drama, design, and fashion.

This year’s theme, Drama, was inspired by a visit to Shakespeare’s Globe theater in England. Festival consultant and professor, Wole Soyinka wanted to bring the drama to Nigeria, calling attention to the need for more fine art performances and experiences.

Freedom Park is the hub of the festival, however, other spaces and pavilions are being used as venues.

Festival highlights includeL The Vision of the Child, Seizing Sambissa, TARZAN monologues, live music performances from Emukay, Jimi Solanke, Eko Brass Band and many more.
