Players that trained hard for World Cup were left behind.

Sunday Mba

Mba Emerged from the sidelines and became a hero at the 2013 Cup of Nations. Mbs scored Nigeria’s winning goal against Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso at the 2013 African Cup of Nations. Super Eagles fans were shocked that 2013 CHAN MVP wasn’t included in Nigeria’s World Cup list.

In his twitter response to the announcement Mba said, “Gutted to not make the 23 man list to the World Cup. I wanted to fight and sweat for the glory of the team and my beloved country.”

Nosa Igiebor

Nosa Igiebora is competent playermaker on his day and brings an assured touch and fine vision to the heart of the midfield. Igiebor’s missteps at the 2013 Cup of Nations cost him greatly when Keshi dropped him from the team. He has since worked hard to retain his place, yet despite his efforts Igiebora did not make an impression with Keshi for Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup list.

Victor Obinna

Victor Obinna has been a squad member since the Confederations Cup and scored a goal in the second-leg of the World Cup play-off against Ethiopia in Calabar. After making nine appearances for Internazionale early in his career, Obinna has struggled to build on his immense promise of powerful long range shots and consistent finishing.

Ejike Uzoenyi

Football - 2014 CAF African Nations Championships - 3rd/4th Playoff - Zimbabwe v Nigeria - Cape Town

Fans would have loved to Uzoenyi  on the field, but despite his excellent performance with South Africa, he didn’t make the cut. His stained past at the 2013 AFCON, struggle to receive acknowledgement from Keshi and brief substitute showing against Mali in the semi-final hurt his prospect.

In addition to disgruntled players and fans, stakeholders are not pleased with Keshi’s decision.
