Daniel Effiong is back with the second episode of the web series Crimson.The first episode, Amazing Grace was very interesting. The series was inspired by the need to shed light on the dark aspects of Naija’s history. {Catch it here if you missed the first episode}. CRIMSON is loosely based on events in Nigeria’s recent history including the “Obasanjo phantom coup, the mysterious deaths of Gloria Okon and Dele Giwa”.
According to the producers of the series, the main character ‘Akin is an A-list detective and henchman of a notorious dictator who realises that dedication to his duty may cause him more than he bargained. He encounters three political prisoners and in his bid to break them, comes face to face with his own demons’.
In Your Cup of Tea, Akin interrogates ‘Chief’. Chief is a former Head of State who is accused of trying to overthrow the current government.
Written and directed by Daniel Etim Effiong, starring Seun Ajayi and Toyin Oshinnaike. Crimson was produced by Kemi ‘Lala’Akindoju, shot by Idhebor Kagho and edited by Mohammed Atta.
