Nigeria Ebola Free

 

After 6 weeks of no new cases, Nigeria is officially Ebola free!

World Health Organization (W.H.O) rep. Rui Gama Vaz speaking at an Abuja press conference said it was a “spectacular success story.” Nigeria made international headlines for their swift response to curbing the disease and has won praises for it efforts.

The outbreak has killed more than 4,500 people in West Africa, mostly in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone. 70% of people who contracted the virus in those countries died. Senegal was also decaled Ebola-free on Friday.

Meanwhile, counties outside of African are discussing ways to strengthen their response to Ebola.
